After the Freeze

Garden update: January 17, 2024

Well, it looks like my garden made it through the freeze relatively intact. I kept everything under wraps for a whole solid week. The sunflowers got nipped, though, so I’m curious to see how they rebound:

The whole reason why I planted them is because I want to attract Rosey Faced Lovebirds into my yard. I see them all over my neighborhood, but they never stop and visit me because I never seem to grow the things that they want. (photo)

These cute little guys are not native to our area, but they’ve established themselves here. I often see them hanging out in super tall (and overgrown) palm trees.

Speaking of birdies, I have an adorable pair of Mourning Doves that haven’t left my yard since they were born in a nest in my Shoestring Acacia tree.

They always end their day together on the birdbath. They just sit there and chill.

Hope you’re having a nice week!

My books Memory Road Trip (e-book or paperback) and Time Traveled (e-book or paperback) are both available! You can also find them at most major international book sites.
