Call It What It is

Democracy is either dead or dying, and a new regime is emerging. The 900-page political blueprint created by the Heritage Foundation serves as the governmental plan. Political parties no longer function as they used to. The Democrats operate under a set of rules that no longer apply, rendering them completely ineffective. The Republicans have transformed into the Party of Trump’s Project 2025, and they are all spineless Russian puppets.

I am frustrated that the media portrays the current political situation as normal. The dismantling or downsizing of federal departments is all part of Project 2025, which aims to undermine various government functions. The media should be calling them out on this, yet the silence is deafening.

I did not vote for the current administration, and each day I become increasingly reluctant to live under this regime, especially as it becomes less desirable to be governed by a convicted felon and his loyalists.

I am disappointed and disgusted by many of my fellow Americans who seem satisfied with the current state of affairs. The culture of hate, vitriol, and ignorance is emotionally taxing. The dehumanization of anyone who is not male and white has created a polarized environment where empathy is scarce. Instances of racism, xenophobia, and homophobia have become more visible, often fueled by sensationalized media coverage and social media echo chambers.

I am frustrated by the lack of opposing voices in the media. Dissenting voices have been willingly muzzled, and once again, the silence is fucking deafening. Corporate media ownership dictates what information is disseminated, and it has become increasingly clear who their beneficiaries are.

Having the richest non-elected official in the world walk around and hold press conferences with a toddler on his shoulders is not fucking normal. This is medieval monarchy-level shit.

I’m concerned about the future of the dollar. Trump and his ilk seem hell-bent on giving the global market reasons to abandon it. They’re angling for America to go crypto so they can unleash another one of their self-enriching scams. And according to them, why not? They don’t care about regulation (Trump signed an executive order to give the president greater power over independent regulatory agencies), nor do they care about the environmental damage that crypto mining causes (Trump implemented a slew of actions and executive orders that stand to have wide-reaching impacts on climate policies).

There’s also no guarantee that the money I and my employers contribute to Social Security will be available when I retire. This uncertainty arises from the current administration’s exploration of ways to access those funds and other benefits Americans pay into.

As I think about it, it would take too long to address every issue, prompting my desire to leave this country. I’d protest every day if I believed it would make a difference, but the Trump faction has been playing the long game for over 50 years. Additionally, just the other day, there was a shooting at the hospital where I work. Honestly, it’s just another day in America, and it doesn’t even make the national news. I don’t see a happy future here anymore. America is a cancer that is eating itself. Unfortunately, like so many cancers, our disease will metastasize and infect the entire world. Leaving might be an option, but where would I go? Where will we be safe from America’s far-reaching illness?

  1. We are in very scary times. His policies and actions will affect the entire world. As a non-American, it feels as if no-one down there is concerned or doing anything to stop this. Thanks for showing me that not everyone agrees with him. Maggie
