A Budapest Buffet

I’m going to write about our trip to Hungary in 2019 for a few upcoming entries, as I’m running out of space to include it in my latest travel memoir.

For our first night, we had dinner at Trofea Grill Buffet, which specializes in traditional Hungarian cuisine, particularly game meat. OMG. Such tasty food!

At one point, all the lights in the restaurant went out, and we thought the place lost power. Nope. It was Happy Birthday time, and all the chocolate cakes with firecrackers came out. Soon, an impressive array of pyrotechnic sparklers were glowing in front of guests’ faces.

The whole thing reminded me of the band Great White. It seemed awfully dangerous to have so many indoor sparklers lit up at the same time.

My books Memory Road Trip (e-bookpaperbackaudio) and Time Traveled (e-bookpaperbackaudio) are both available! You can also find them at most major international book sites.
