The Castillo San Felipe del Morro was the largest Caribbean fortification built by the Spanish, and it was intriguing to see peeling plaster revealing stones set in place hundreds of years before. History happened here, and I couldn’t help but wonder how many pirates gazed upon those walls and bribed their way through.
