This month’s retro photo album is titled: Goldfield Feb 14, 2007.
Located at the foot of the Superstition Mountains, Goldfield was a boom-and-bust town built on the riches of the Mammoth Mine. The gold vein soon played out, and the city lasted only five years, from 1893 to 1898. The buildings standing there today are all reconstructions, but the atmosphere they create is very real. Also genuine are the broken-down cars that have been sent there to decompose. Thus, it is the perfect place to run around and take pictures.

Happy Trails!
